CEREC Crown Magic: Transforming Your Smile Instantly
Ask anyone who has had traditional tooth crowns about the procedure and it is likely they will tell you about the loosening of ill-fitting temporary crowns, teeth shifting between appointments and being forced to wait 2 or more weeks for a permanent crown. Fortunately, there’s a viable alternative to opting for conventional tooth crowns, and that alternative is the innovative CEREC Crown.
CEREC 3D is now regarded as the best alternative to having dental crowns. It can be completed in a single visit, and this is why it can be known as Same Day Porcelain Crowns, One Hour Crowns, the One Visit Smile or Instant Crowns. The CEREC system saves time as it can be done with speed, is convenient for patients, and is precise. This technology enables dentists at Chagger Dental to do high-quality designing and sculpting of porcelain dental restorations.

What is CEREC 3D?
This ground-breaking technology allows for smile makeovers that historically took multiple visits and the work of an outside laboratory to be completed in one visit within a few hours! After your teeth have been examined, a course of treatment has been established and any decayed or infected matter has been removed, it is time for the CEREC to shine. Once the tooth has been prepped (decayed matter removed), your dental care professional gently coats the tooth with a gel. A CEREC wand is then used to take a digital scan of the tooth. Once the scan is complete, the CEREC system creates a digital 3D image of the tooth/piece that needs to be replaced. The digital model is then sent to an inhouse milling unit. A piece of ceramic materials matching the colour of your natural teeth is selected and the milling unit then carves out the missing piece or tooth from the ceramic block. This process results in dental crowns, bridges, implants or porcelain veneers made to order within our offices! The piece is then bonded to your existing tooth using dental cement or an alternative dental bonding agent. It is then shined and buffed to match the sheen of your natural teeth. Within hours, your teeth can be restored to their natural glory!
Advantages of 3D Technology
Unlike the method used in the past to create tooth crowns, CEREC 3D system utilizes 3D digital images rather than wax impressions to make a tooth crown. One of the good things about these digital images is that they are more detailed than a wax mold, giving a more natural tooth appearance. This makes a CEREC crown fit better than one that is designed at a dental lab.
Since CEREC can sculpt new tooth crowns or missing teeth parts (inlay onlay) from a porcelain block within a few minutes, it is possible to prepare, photograph and restore in a single visit hence making it convenient and time-saving. Even though a computer sculpts the tooth crown, the dentist has full control over every aspect of the design of the tooth restoration.
Benefits of CEREC Restorations
- There are all porcelain restorations
- Fits better than lab created tooth crowns
- More attractive than composite and metal crowns
- No dripping messy impressions
- Beautiful enamel-like material which feels and looks like natural teeth
- No temporary crown
- Conservative restoration which retains a natural tooth structure
- It is metal-free
- No second visit
Why Use CEREC 3D?
Apart from the fact that they can be ready in one visit to the dentist, CEREC tooth crowns help keep your teeth and mouth healthy for a long period of time and are metal free. Since they are porcelain, they just look like natural tooth enamel and are as hardy as natural teeth.
These features make them feel and look like real teeth and it can be difficult for a person to tell that you have false teeth. CEREC tooth crowns and dental restorations are ideal for repairing a newly damaged tooth or for replacing old metal crowns and fillings.
And since CEREC crown, inlays and onlays are made from porcelain, they can last for a longer period of time than white composite fillings. This coupled with the fact that they do not damage teeth like fillings and crowns make CEREC technology an economical restorations worth considering.
CEREC allows for dental caps or crowns, dental veneers, inlays, onlays, bridges, and dental implants to be created right in the office! Next time you visit our dental practice, be sure to meet the team, visit our photo gallery, and ask a professional about our latest cadcam system.
What is the Dental CEREC Crown system?
Dr. Chagger and our team of dentists in Ontario work with the CEREC crown system, which allows us to prepare the affected tooth, design the porcelain dental crown or bridge, and place them in a single visit.
After studying each personal case, and leaning towards dental crowns or bridges as the best solution for the damaged tooth, the piece is prepared to receive treatment with the CEREC crown. The first step is to take a 3D impression of the damaged piece and, from this virtual image, design the crown on the computer and send the information to a system called CAD CAM that manufactures the dental CEREC crown in a few minutes.
The Chagger Dental Clinic was the first dental clinic in Ontario that acquired the CEREC system. Currently we have the latest model of this advanced technology in which we have accumulated 10 years of experience.
The ceramic used to manufacture dental crowns with the CEREC system is guaranteed to have been tested in studies for 20 years. And to that is added the peace of mind of putting yourself in the hands of the most trusted dental clinic in Ontario. Will you Call US?
How much does a Dental Crown Cost?
Dental crown cost, vary greatly and depend, fundamentally, on the materials chosen and the prosthetist who manufactures them. At a general level, it is possible to highlight that resin crowns, since they are often provisional crowns, cost around $800 to $1,500.
- Porcelain ones , because they are a permanent aesthetic solution, can become more expensive. Their price ranges from $1,500 to $2,500 approximately. The results, except in the described case of gum shrinkage, are usually definitive. This type of crown is mainly used for aesthetic reconstructions when dental veneers are contraindicated.
- Zirconium crowns have a higher price compared to metal/porcelain crowns. Like those in the previous point above, they perfectly meet the functional objective of chewing. As far as aesthetics are concerned, zirconium is the versatile material to simulate and personalize the patient’s morphology and enamel. Its price will be around $1000 and $2500.
- Metal porcelain crowns have a lower price compared to the previous two. Its price will be around $600 to $1,200.
The Dental crown cost displayed on our website are indicative, so we recommend contacting our clinic. After an initial consultation, you will be given a detailed budget for the entire treatment.
